Aloe Vera Soup for Cleansing the Liver


Clears heat and removes fire, regulates the function of the gut, and softens and whitens the complexion. It should be taken during the summer months to prevent a build-up of summer heat in the liver, and is recommended for those experiencing skin and liver trouble.


Fresh aloe vera 3 pieces (approximately 100g), green bamboo shoot 2, sweet red pepper 1/2, small cucumber 2, maize shoots 2, fresh fragrant mushroom 1, salt 1 tsp.


1.Rinse all the ingredients. Peel and slice the aloe vera, bamboo shoot and maize shoots. Slice the mushroom into strips. Remove the stem and seeds of the red pepper, and dice both the pepper and the cucumber. Soak the aloe vera in water for 1 hour.
2.Place the bamboo shoot, maize shoots and mushroom in a pot with 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer over a low fire until cooked. Add the red pepper and continue to simmer.
3.Add the cucumber, aloe vera and salt last. Bring to a boil again before removing from heat.
