Action

  • Cools the blood, promotes blood circulation and stops bleeding
    External use for bleeding caused by trauma, and after tooth extraction.
  • Removes blood stasis and relieves pain
    Relieves traumatic pain, amenia, menalgia, postpartum retention of lochia, pain in the chest and hypochondria.
  • Relieves cough and eliminates sputum
  • Treats traumatic injuries
    May be used with Frankincense, Chinese Angelica (Danggui), Safflower etc.

Usage and Dosage
The stir-baked with vinegar, or the carbonised one, is for stopping bleeding.
The crude or the stir-baked with wine is for promoting blood circulation, and dredging the channels.
5–10 g is used in decoction for oral use.

Notes
Used with caution in the case with deficiency and cold in the spleen and stomach, without blood stasis.

Description of Quality Herb
The good one is stout, reddish-brown on the surface and reddish-yellow on the, without the stem base and mud.
