Source The spores of Japanese Fern are the spores of Lygodium japonicum (Thunb.) Sw., and several other species of the same genus, (Fam. Logodiaceae.).

ACTION

  • Promotes diuresis, unblocks stones
    Treats most types of painful urinary problems: urinary stones, stranguria, dysuria with burning, hematuria, turbid and cloudy urine, and dribbling. Expels urinary and gallbladder stones.
  • Reduces swelling, treats jaundice
    For edema and jaundice caused by dampness-heat with general swelling, fullness or bloating in the abdomen.
  • Treats tonsillitis, mastitis and erysipelas

Usage and Dosage
6–15 g is used in decoction for oral use. Wrap it before decocting.
Note
Use with caution in the patient with deficiency of kidney-y/n.


Storage
It is inflammable and susceptible to mould. Keep in a dry and fireproof container and protect from moisture and dust.

The good one is light in weight, brownish yellow in colour, glossy and without impurities.
