Reed Congee

Clears heat, relieves irritability, moisturises and stops vomiting associated with heat in the stomach.

Reed rhizome 30g (dried), bamboo pith 15g, japonica rice 100g, fresh ginger 2 pieces.

1.Rinse the reed rhizome and cut into small sections.
2.Decoct the sliced reed rhizome together with the bamboo pith. Strain out the dregs.
3.Add the japonica rice and cook as congee. When almost done, add the ginger and simmer for a short while longer.

Contraindicated for those experiencing vomiting associated with cold in the stomach, or those experiencing coughing due to cold in the lungs.
