Action

  • Invigorates blood, dispels blood stasis,
    relieves pain
    Treats blood stasis due to trauma with swelling and pain. It enters the xue point and treats amenorrhea, dysmenorrheal, postpartum chest congestion and dyspnea.
  • Stops bleeding, aids healing, protects ulcer surface
    Stop bleeding from trauma. Used to treat bleeding in upper digestive tract. For chronic ulcers, hemorrhoids with swelling and pain, open sores with pus.

Usage and Dosage
Mostly used in pills or powder, 1–1.5 g for oral use. Powder or decocted paste for external use.

Note
Contraindicated for pregnant women and during menstruation.

Description of Quality Herb

A good resin is dark like iron and turns blood red colour when ground to powder. When exposed to fire, it gives off a benzene-like fragrance.
