Notoginseng Chicken Soup

Relieves mental strain, benefits intelligence, promotes blood circulation and removes obstruction in the apertures. It is recommended for those with deficiency of blood, amnesia and insomnia.

Notoginseng root 6–10 g, red ginseng 6–10 g, Chinese angelica root 10 g, chicken fillet 150 g, raw ginger 2 slices, red dates 4, dried longan 10 g.

1.Rinse the notoginseng root, red ginseng and red dates. Crush the notoginseng root, and slice the red ginseng. Remove the pits from the dates. Rinse and steep herbs in a pot containing an adequate amount of water for 30 minutes.
2.Slice the chicken meat into pieces, blanch them and add to pot.
3.Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower the heat and simmer for another 2 hours.

Tips for a Healthy Life
Those who are physically frail or who do not suffer from blood stasis may reduce the use of notoginseng root to 3–6 g.
