ACTION

  • Invigorates blood and the normal flow of qi
    Treats all kinds of blood and qi stasis patterns. Cures gynaecological disorders like irregular menses, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, difficult labour, postpartum abdominal pain and retained lochia.
  • Expels pathogenic wind and relieves pain
    Treats all kinds of headaches caused by wind-cold, wind-heat, wind-damp, blood stagnation and blood deficiency.
    Cures dizziness due to wind.
    Relieves pain associated with qi and blood stasis, including pain in the chest, flanks, hypochondria, muscles and joints.
    Treats numbness, paralysis and chronic non-healing sores with or without pus.

Usage and Dosage
Used as a crude herb to relieve pain and expel pathogenic wind. When prepared with wine, it promotes blood flow to induce menstrual discharge. For brewing, use 3-10 g. If ground for oral use, use 1-1.5 g per consumption.

Note
Contraindicated for pregnant women, people with heavy menstrual discharge, intense heatiness in body due to deficiency of y/n and profuse sweat.

Storage
Store in a cool and dry place. Protect from mould.

Description of Quality Herb
The good one is big in size and firm. When broken into sections, the interior is yellowish white in colour. Best if it has an oily feel and a strong aroma.
